(Nov. 23) - HP's defense swarmed around the ball Monday night, and North Garland couldn't handle the pressure in the Lady Scots' 42-20 win at Highlander Fieldhouse. The Lady Scots (4-2) jumped out to a 14-5 lead despite cold shooting early, and held North Garland (1-6) to single digits in scoring in the first three quarters. HP's inside game was working well with Eleanor Aldous and Dabney Rice getting easy looks in the lane during the first half. Sydney McDaniel added a three-pointer, and the Lady Scots scored a handful of transition baskets plus a few more underneath from Amy Eckeberger. Plenty of foul calls also allowed HP to pad its lead at the free throw line. HP led at the half, 23-7. HP expanded on that lead with a 13-2 advantage in the third quarter behind balanced scoring. All 11 players got into the scorebook for the Lady Scots, who are in the busiest section of their schedule with four games in five days following the Scot Classic over the weekend. HP hosts Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night. HP 42, North Garland 20 HP scoring: Sydney McDaniel 6, Amy Eckeberger 6, Eleanor Aldous 6, Dabney Rice 5, Katherine Krause 5, Hartley Hobson 3, Allie Klein 3, Kaitlyn Read 2, Libby Ethington 2, Amanda Goodwin 2, Sara Kelly 2. |
