Hockey: Scots 2-1 in preseason tourney

HP's hockey team opened its season by winning two of three games last weekend at the AT&T Metroplex Hockey Preseason Tournament.

The Scots beat McKinney, 5-2, in their opening game with five different players scoring: Stephen Callaghan, Trevor Sullivan, Aidan Schorsch, Bradford Burr and Connor Crow. Senior goalie Matthew Crow recorded 20 saves in the victory.

HP beat Plano East, 3-1 in the next game. Schorsch and the Scots scored first 13 seconds into the third period with assists from James Emanuelson and Greg Bradley. Three minutes later, Sullivan scored from in front of the net assisted by Callaghan and Nolan Baade. Callaghan capped the scoring into an empty net to seal it late. Matthew Crow finished the game with 26 saves.

In the finale, the Scots lost to Flower Mound Marcus, 3-0. HP trailed 1-0 going into the third period but couldn't find an equalizer. 

The hockey Scots open their regular season Sept. 30 along with the rest of the AT&T league. The league's schedule has not been published yet.
